Changing keyboard shortcut

Hi Timo!

It frequently happens to me that I want to start a new task using the shortcut Ctrl+W but missed that the focus is (still) in another app. Unfortunately, this shortcut causes some apps to close a tab or altogether (e.g. Firefox, Thunderbird, Zim Wiki). This is usually not catastrophic (at least it wasn't so far), but still annoying over time. I could imagine that when killing this very tab I'm writing in right now, Firefox perhaps wouldn't be able to recover the contents of this form on recovering the last closed tab.

Is it possible to configure the shortcut for starting a new task? I didn't find a setting in the UI and also no similar question in this forum.

If I could, I would probably choose Ctrl+T for "task" or Ctrl+B for "begin" (Ctrl+N is already in use). Both seem to be less "destructive" when inadvertently received by a different app.

WorkingHours version: 2.6.11.0
OS + version: Windows 10 Pro 20H2

I am currently not considering adding a whole additional section to the app settings in order to customize the shortcuts, at least not as long there is larger demand for it.

OK, thank you for the prompt reply (which, unfortunately, I didn't notice earlier, sorry)!

I assume you don't consider adding a second, alternative shortcut for starting a new task either, that is, two shortcuts for the same function at the same time to let the user decide which one to use?

Hi Timo, new user to WorkingHours and so far really enjoying it! I'm using it on MacOS, and I'm struggling with something similar. In particular, I usually like to have the app itself closed (but not quit) so that it is not in my list of apps when I command + tab. However, the default shortcut to pull up the WorkingHours app again is "⌘W", which is almost always the command to "close tab" for whatever other app I am currently on. I'd love a way to remap this keyboard shortcut. An alternative request would be to just have the shortcut mapped to another combination that isn't as common (eg. control + w would work) on MacOS. Thanks!

I am a Windows user and have troubles understanding the way shortcuts work on macOS. I just tried the "⌘W" hotkey, which didn't even work, unless I clicked the WorkingHours menu item first.
Can you confirm that this hotkey works for you (when you happen to have no other app in the foreground that subscribed to the same hotkey)?

Ah good point, looks like the "⌘W" does not actually work! I took a quick crack at the osxdaily article but couldn't get it working, but no worries, this is overall just a very minor inconvenience. Thanks for the prompt response and for your help.
