Vielleicht muss ich mir eine andere Struktur einfallen lassen...
Jetzt:
"KundenNummer/Fall"=Task
"Anruf" oder "Analyse" oder "Schreiben" = Tag
Bei jedem anruf brauche ich einen neuen Eintrag. Danach kommt analyse, dann schreiben usw. Das muss ich flott auswählen mussen damit am Ende des Tages die 35 "Tasks" gelistet werden können

Did you try to recreate your preferred setup with a mix of tasks / tags? You can also auto-add tags to tasks, maybe that helps you getting there.

SilexLegal with a possibility to clic on the currently selected one to prompt a window for further customization (tags, descriptions, notes, personal or professional, etc)

Would it be possible to add that as a feature request? I think it would be possible to open the main window and show the popover to add any details.

Currency is a setting on the *task" / Aufgabe (not work unit / Arbeitseinheit) and can be changed in those settings

Did you enable the setting I described? The work unit details popover should show then every time you start/stop the timer.

SilexLegal Could I use group to qualify a client, sort time by group, and attribute a standard hourly wage to the Group so that all tasks in the group are subject to that default rate (unless specified differently at the Task level)?

I have not completely thought through that feature. Feel free to add your thoughts there. This is another feature request that could be interesting for your use case

Hi Timo, Thanks for your fast replies. I tried to turn the logic around.
Instead of using Tasks for Projects and Tags for activity (phone call, drafting, analyze etc.) I reversed it.
Unfortunately what that means is that I set an hourly rate variation by activity and not by client. It's easier to record time because I can set current priority file as default in Tags and when I select an activity it shows in the top menu bar to select. But then I have calculation problems. Corporate clients are billed higher than individuals so it doesn't work for me. Plus It only works for 1 customer at a time and I have to change every time entry individually. For billing purposes I do not want to group the info either. Using an effective app should enhance productivity but since there is so much workaround to do at my end I'll have to leave it at that. I lost 3 hours + trying to figure this out. I'll keep using spreadsheets on one device. Not optimal. Another way to programm would be to have multiple timers (as many as you want) with the option as many layers of classification as the client wants (only adds columns in a table) which options all report into a DB that can export to spreadsheet. An option could allow to timers to run simultaneously (total time for example) or be shot of as soon as another timer is activated. Anyway. Thank you for your time and comittment. You can also control the hourly rate with tags, or is there a reason that wouldn't work?

I would like to bump that feature request with a simpler logic.

Adding Customers and their hourly rate that prevails over the task hourly rate would be beneficial.
Matching the WorkingTime client with the one in SubTotal for invoicing - even better.

"Me too" would like to have a client category (kind of folder or anything else) for grouping all work for the same client, after two days of trying, this is the only thing holding me back from clicking "buy the app "in the apple store 8-)

Having a hierarchical taxonomy of higher-level groups for clients and projects rather than only low-level tasks and tags would be ideal. Possibly the confusion mentioned is that some are attempting to organize clients/projects into tasks/tags and therefore the naming conventions cause confusion. Merely speculating based on my own experience and the few comments here.

I understand that a new/other Category defies the idea of having a simple to use App. My payment logic is differnt: I get paid by projects, no matter the working hours. I'd like to use the app to see how much my hourly rate effectively is.
As far as I understand I would need to calculate either by task, or by tag, the amount myself, after I tracked everything? Or just use Tasks as Projects and Tags as acutal tasks?

That's exactly what the "task lump sum" is for 🙂 Or is this not what you mean?
