New tag is being added to all past entries..

Hello, I have run into an issue while using the pro version of workinghours (on Windows) where when I create a new tag, it is being applied to every single time entry from the past. When I make the new tag, I leave the standard settings, nothing else. Then I wanted to create a Rechnung using SubTotal that would only include the entries containing that specific tag, but the Invoice ended up containing every entry from the entire timeframe I specified, rather than only entries I had applied the tag to. When I went back into working hours to figure out what was going on, I saw that the tag had somehow been applied to everything. I deleted the tag and tried again, but got the same result. Not sure what else to describe related to the problem. Any help or tips on what I might be doing wrong?

The feature you are referring to is working as intended - it adds the selected tag to all exported work units. The app shows a warning on what this feature does when selecting a tag.
To filter by a tag when exporting, you need to do so in the time tracking tab (this is also noted on the export screen).
What could I do to make this less confusing? Maybe the translation is incorrect? Is the wording not clear enough?

I'm having the same issue as the original poster. After using the program for a year with one client, I added tags because I got a second client and am using the tags to separate the two projects. When I try to export, I filter by choosing to export only the one tag to show the work I did for one client. The software added both tags to all of the work I did for the client I was trying to export. I went through each entry removing the unwanted tags and when I tried exporting again they got readded. Tried to remove tags, close the software and then reopen it - same problem.

JLSmith That really sounds like you didn't filter by that tag, but selected the option to tag all exported work units:

I have it grouped by tags. The problem isn't that when I export everything is being added, it's that when I look at past entries they automatically added all tags to each entry. So then I have to go back and remove the unwanted tags from each entry. I save the entry with the unwanted tags removed but when I go to export it again, the unwanted tags get added back to those entries and I have to go through my invoice and manually delete everything from the other tag.

I've never had that warning pop up.

It looks like you were doing what I assumed in my last answer: You did not use the filter on the time tracking page, but the "tag exported work units" option in the export screen. There will always be a warning popup shown when you change the selection from "—" to a tag

I am not sure if I understand. Grouping has nothing to do with this.
