Lost 2yrs of logs

Hi Timo,
Love the app, but I've just had a serious problem occur. I have the Pro version on my computer and just bought the Pro version for my phone. To get the time logs on my phone, I back up the 1000s of hours from my computer onto my OneDrive. When importing onto my phone from OneDrive it only showed logs up to 2019. Now on my pc I also only have up to 2019! I've lost 2 yrs worth of logs.... vital information for running my business! Is there anyway you have this information stored somewhere. Serious problem for me!

How exactly did you do that? Can you describe the whole process in more detail please (step by step)?

Again, how exactly did you do the "import". Did you use the "import"/"backup" feature or the Cloud Sync?

WorkingHours doesn't just delete any data, I assume you mixed up some of the backup/database files.

Thanks for your reply. These are the steps I took....

Installed Pro version on my phone
On my pc, went to WH settings, then database, then pressed Backup database.
Selected a location on my OneDrive to save the file.
On my phone, selected Import database. Noticed the logs only went as far as 2019.
On my pc, checked the file I backed up by importing the same file. Noticed the logs also only went as far as 2019.
As a last resort, pressed sync now on pc which also syncs to my OneDrive, same thing.

So I think the issue is that the backup that was created did not backup all the information. I don't suppose you know of any way of getting this information back? 🙂

You must have picked the wrong file to import (or the device where you created the backup on didn't have more data).
The app literally "copy-pastes" the currently active database to the location the user selects as backup location.
The "backup_" files (or more broadly speaking ALL files in the OneDrive "Apps/WorkingHours/..." location) are not generated by the "backup" option but they are created by the sync - unless you manually select that folder during backup.
Please check again if you selected the correct file. You can also send me the database via mail if you are sure it was not created by the sync but by the backup and I'll see if I find any additional information in it

Not sure why you did that after the backup only showed old data on your phone. The app shows a warning that it will replace the current database irrevocably.

Timo, I just found the location on my OneDrive where the updates are stored. Imported a file called 'backup_2021-08-31_v4.wh' but the same thing.... still only up to 2019. This is strange since the file name would indicate that it was backed up only a few days ago.
