As a consultant in a field based occupation I work both at home remotely for a client and in the field at their site. My contracts always billed by the day. When working in the field I charge by the day or part of a day as the hours are not fixed. When working in the office I track in hrs:min but convert it to decimal days and again charge again by the day.
For example, for field work, if I leave home after lunch to travel to the site I'll charge 0.5 days then 1 day for each day on site.
When working in the office, I track hrs:min and then charge in decimal days for an 8 hr day : eg. if I work 10 hrs on one day and 6 the next I'll charge 1.25 days for the first day and 0.75 days for the second.
Is there a way to do this in WorkingHours? Having just started using this App I plan enter one 8 hr day for a field day and track the office work, export the data to Excel and convert it there to decimal days.
