timo Hi, sorry, never saw your reply - I am not sure I understand your suggestion. Are you saying I should enter the 8 hours twice, so that the second 8h appear in the counter? However then the running total will be off, wouldn't it?

aikenadam Hi, not sure I fully understand which feature you are missing - for me it works very well to have a "standard working hours" tag of 8h per day, and then the App counts how much time I work in excess or less, and keeps a running total of how much I worked beyond 8h per day that I work (and am neither sick nor on vacation etc.).

You could to the same with 40 h per week, but then you need to enter tasks for vacation and sick days - otherwise those will create negative overtime.

Is there a way to create a tag to adjust an hourly rate used?
I recently put up my prices, but have given existing clients a couple of months at the old rate.
New customers get charged the new rate, so I was hoping to be able to create a tag, than added an extra £5 per hour.
e.g. my old rate was £30 per hour (charged in 5 minute intervals), but the new rate is £35 (only for new customers at the moment. So I just want to add a tag that adjusts the price based on the new hourly rate.
This would be handy for other scenarios too. for example, if I gave a particular client a discount.
I'm guessing it might be easier to just create a new task but thought I'd check first.

eyetoother The closest thing to achieve this without having to create a new task with a new hourly rate is probably an "earning adjustment tag" with a multiply value of 1.16666666667 (because 30 * 1.16666666667 = 35)

I've created many tasks for each of my clients with many tags inside it to know what i did during that time.
However as soon as i select the task (client) inside a already tracked time, all the tags are automatically added to the time tracked and I have to remove them all one by one unless the one i want to keep.
How can I prevent this from happening?

The only way to prevent that from happening is to remove the tags from the task.
If you want to give the task some more context, just write that in the task's details field

Is it possible toe search using the custom values. I.e. I am using a single tag to contain the task-ids I am working on. However If I search tasks or attempt to use the analytics tab I can not view the individual values. Just the raw place holder tag.

Example:
I create a custom tag called Task-id:

I then create two work units using this custom tag
Task 1 gets 3 hours and task-id:T1
Task 2 gets 2 hours and task-id:T2

At the end of the week I want to attribute my time to these task-ids. Is it possible to either search my work units by T1 or T2; or using the tag view in analytics to view time spent on these discreet tasks?

Hi, I'm currently doing a job that I get paid per item scanned. And I would like to know how long it takes me to do a certain amount of scans each day and also how much my pay would be for each day or each session of scans. So like say each section is about 3000 items and is suppose to take about 8 hours to scan each and every item. Each item scanned pays $0.05. But somedays I can do 2 hours and some days I can do 4 hours. It all just depends. So is there a way for me to add tags that would keep track of how many hours I worked each day, the number of scans I did that day or time period, and the pay for that day or time period? Thank you so much for any help you can give me on this. I really appreciate it.

You can just use the working time adjustment tags for that. Or just start/stop the timer accordingly - no tags needed.

No, WorkingHours doesn't do that kind of calculation. You can calculate the earnings by yourself and then use an "earnings adjustment tag" to enter it into the app

Is there a way to add a variable amount? I have an hourly rate, and want a tag to add tips (diffrent every time), the variable tag replaces the hourly rate, I would like a tag to do +x, is that possible?

Hello, Is it possible to create a tag that allows to have a fixed earning per task title or a custom reference? For example I want to measure the daily performance by using the story points (SP) of a task. Each task has a fixed SP value. The more SPs I am able to complete daily, the more efficient my work is. I have other stuff that I also register (like meetings) that interrupts the task continuity. The problem is that when I click "continue" the earning adjustment is added, making a task of value 3, becomes 6 at the daily sum. Since the earning is fixed per specific task, the daily value could be a fraction of the task earning by the number of days that the task is running.

Is this possible?

What I'm currently doing is manually setting the earning on the latest task with the same name. If the task repeats on the next days, I divide the earning value by the number of days.

MiguelRodrigues With "task", are you referring to the WorkingHours "task" or a "work unit"?
There are already tags available to give a work unit a fixed earnings value.

timo Sorry my bad... I refer "work unit". I work on a fixed value per task, not an hourly rate. For example I have I create "Task A" And I get interrupted by this daily meeting. The total value should be 3, not 6. If I add another work unit called "Task B" it should count as a separate. If it extends more than one day the Value should be split by the number of days. I noted that there is the "Lump sum" but it does not affect the total earnings value on the top.

MiguelRodrigues I don't know how to achive what you are looking for. When you create two work units then they are treated as two work units. If you dont want that, you could keep one work unit and add the "Meeting" work unit manually, without using the timer and stopping "Task A".

timo after fiddling around with the app I now understand how it works... I was treating the work unit as tasks, and Tasks as templates.

Changing the task lump sum value didn't work because all other work units inherited the same task, making it return 0 due to all the fractioning, so I created a new duplicated Task. I'll probably just discard the previous records and start over, as I only use this for logging my own work. I need to rethink how do I use the app and create a new task every time that a new work comes into my hand. The issue is that although that I have the task list with all tasks that I worked on, I can't find a way to have a common set of task templates with prefilled tags to work with. Does this exist or is it possible to duplicate
including the prefilled tags?

You can duplicate tasks in the task list via the context menu.
