Windows - Stop timer when entering stand-by, hibernate, close laptop

Currently, when I close my laptop computer (and it enters stand-by or hibernation), WorkingHours continues to track my current task.
I would like WorkingHours to stop the current task when one of the events (closing, stand-by, hibernation) occurs.

This could be implemented as new options on the "Timer Steuerung" tab.
E. g.
"Beim Zuklappen": ["Timer stoppen", "Timer pausieren"]
"Beim Aufklappen": ["Timer starten", "Timer fortsetzen"]
"Bei Ruhezustand / Stand-By": ["Timer stoppen", "Timer pausieren"]
"Beim Aufwachen": ["Timer starten", "Timer fortsetzen"]

WorkingHours version: 2.6.5.0
Operating system: Windows 10

See here (and other threads). There is simply no event that the PC goes to hibernate so WorkingHours isn't informed about that happening and cannot stop the timer. Otherwise I would have implemented this already.

Hi Timo,

thanks for your fast reply. I don't know which language you are programming in, but at least for C#, there is
a SystemEvents.PowerModeChanged event which gives at least information whether system is about to suspend/wake up.

I am using C#, but WorkingHours is a UWP app, not System32.
UWP can only access a quite limited set of APIs: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56445822/systemevents-powermodechanged-is-not-working-in-uwp
There might be some (hacky) workarounds to access those APIs but I am not very familiar with them and they also come with drawbacks.
Microsoft is currently working on the new "generation" of app technology that I might migrate to. Perhaps that will "open up" those events for this app.

Hi, Timo! The problem is, even if I manually pause the current task and THEN make my laptop hibernate, after the machine wakes up and I login to Windows the task automatically starts, but it appears as if no pause happened.
My settings:

What it looks like after waking up:

On the shot above, the task duration must be ₁ minute, not 51 minutes, because I paused the task almost immediately after its start, and the laptop was hibernated for ₅₀ minutes

CarotinVmx I just tried this on my laptop with the same settings as in your screenshots but the problem didn't happen for me - the timer resumed but with the same time the timer was stopped before the hibernate.

Can you reproduce this on your device every time you try?
Are you using the Cloud Sync?

SSame here but only started when I purchased the Pro version app.
Now I work even when I sleep at the same time my laptop won't go to sleep since this bug, even when i close the screen top and put it in the bag. I have not changed any setting in the last weeks. So I tried another setting, then put it back to what I want and will check if it works. I am happy to know that someone had the same problem thant me.

This discussion is over 3 years old and I haven't changed anything related to this functionaliry in recent updates.
You need to manually stop the timer before you close your laptop

Je comprend que cette conversation date de 3 ans mais j'ai le même problème et ce depuis que j'ai acheté la version Pro. Maintenant votre logiciel n'arrête plus le compteur lorsque je ne suis plus à mon ordinateur depuis 5-10-15-20 minutes, j'ai vérifié les paramètres de mon laptop et aussi de votre application. Maintenant, je dois le fermer manuellement le compteur et il ne recommence pas à compter lorsque je reprends mon travail, je dois l'actionner manuellement. Avant que j'achète votre version Pro et que j'utilisais votre version d'essaie pendant 7 jours, il n'y avait aucun problème de ce genre. C'est la raison pour laquelle j'ai acheter votre application, parce qu'il gérait seule mon temps sans que j'y pense.

I have nothing changed to the idle detection feature. Please make sure WorkingHours is allowed to run in the background - you can do so in the Windows settings
