Accidentally Deleted Tag, Hours Underneath Tag Also Deleted

Hello,

I have a paid version of the app with sync enabled, but my wife does not yet have the paid version. She was adding her own hours under a tag on her device (iOS), but wanted to recategorize everything. In the process, she deleted a tag, which deleted all the hours input underneath that tag. Is there any way to get this data back knowing she did not have the paid version and sync enabled at the time?

Hi Steve,

Deleting a tag should not delete the work units/hours themselves. It only removes that tag from the entries. Most likely the entries are currently hidden because the list/report is still filtered by that tag, or by a date/task/search filter. Please try clearing all filters in the timeline. The entries should then appear again, just without the deleted tag assigned.

If the work units were actually deleted separately, recovery is only possible from an existing WorkingHours backup or cloud sync data. If sync was not enabled and no manual backup was created, WorkingHours would not have another copy of that local iOS data. The paid version/sync on your device would not contain your wife’s local data unless her device had sync enabled to the same sync file/account.

Hey Timo,

Apologies it was actually a Task category that was deleted, not a Tag. I didn't find any filters on that were preventing the hours from showing but hoping they're there somewhere, just without a task category assigned.

When trying to delete a task that work units use, WorkingHours shows two warning dialogs for the user to confirm (clicking on a red "Delete" button) before the app deletes both task + work units. Were those warnings not clear enough or what could I improve?
