Open app when clicking widget

The Android widget is one of the main reasons for using WorkingHours.
It offers the most important functions for everyday use.

Nevertheless, it is sometimes necessary to access the app.

Currently, this can be done by clicking on the active task on the widget. This opens the details of the corresponding task.

Currently, the WorkingHours icon must be placed next to the widget to get quick access.

A useful enhancement would be if clicking on the free space of the widget or on another inactive task would also open the app on the main page.

Thanks for your feature request. I will also make the top area of the widget (with the timer display that counts up) clickable - clicking on that area will bring the app to the foreground, but not navigate to another screen.

The feature is marked as "Done" since the 5. of March.
We use the version 2.16.3 but clicking the empty area or the header of hte widget still does not open the app.
When clicking the header, only the "Working Unit" details are opened.

In which version should it be integrated?

In my tests the app now opens when clicking the header. You say in your comment that something also opens for you. So it's working or not?
I didn't change the behavior when clicking one of the inactive tasks

This is how it looks like:

The request can be split up in two areas:

1. Header
If the timer is active, the details of the working unit gets opened. The main app openes only if the timer is stopped.

2. Empty area
Nothing happens when clicking the empty area.

So right now, there is no way to open the main page of the app when a timer is active.
Out of this reason, the app symbol must be placed beneath the widget to have a direct access to the main view of the app.

I think, it would be nice to jump directly to the main view og the app when clicking on the empty area (2).

For the header, this is expected behavior.
Now I understand what you mean with "empty area". My list was smaller and had more elements, therefore there was no empty area. Unfortunately there's no easy way without workarounds to handle this tap because technically the area still belongs to the list and the list can only handle taps on the individual items.

Why is it not an option to either click on the app notification or navigate back when opening the current timer page?

Hi Timo;

I didn’t know you could open the app via the notification.
This works for us, and using this method, the app icon next to the widget can be removed, as there’s always a way to get to the app’s home screen.
