It often happens to me that I switch my work to a different task but forget to stop and restart the timer. As soon as I notice this I try to correct the times of the work units.
For the following lets assume that the timer is still running for task 1 / WU1, but in fact I have started to work on task 2 one hour ago.
Method 1:
- stop timer and start timer for task 2 (this creates WU2)
- manually correct end time of WU1
- manually correct start time of WU2
=> This is cumbersome, I must perform two edit operations, and align the two timestamps.
Since I have learnt to split a WU from the context menu, I am trying the following Method 2:
- stop timer and start timer for task 2 (this creates a WU, lets call it WU3)
- split WU1 at "one hour ago" (this creates another WU2 for task 1)
- re-assign WU2 to task 2
=> less cumbersome; but it could be more elegant and at the same time avoid to see two WU for task2.
Feature Request: Allow a WU with running timer to be split.
I could then apply Method 3:
- split WU1 at "one hour ago" (this creates another WU2 for task 1, and WU2 inherits the running timer).
- re-assign WU2 to task 2
=> finished, all is good, and both WU look nice.
